Because these predictions seem to infuriate people, I figure why not keep throwing them out there. The worst-case (or best-case, depending upon your perspective) scenario is I'm wrong, the Yankees play well, and you guys have a little fun at my expense. I can live with that. Here are the next two weeks for the Yanks and Sox, respectively.
Yankees
@CWS: 1-2
vs. LAA: 2-2
vs. BAL: 2-1
@ BOS: 2-3
Overall: 7-8
Red Sox
@ KC: 3-0
vs. BAL: 2-1
vs. DET: 2-1
vs. NYY: 3-2
Overall: 10-4
That's a 3.5 game swing, which leaves Boston up 1.5 games after the Fenway series. The fine folks at ESPN are wetting themselves at that possibility. What a harrowing story of triumph it will be.
Finally, is it just me, or does Boston seem to get a series with the Royals every time they need to get things back on track?

Your predictions have been rock solid so far this year that you might as well keep making them.
You should post the links to some of your archived posts prior to the all-star break. They were dyn-o-mite!

//Your predictions have been rock solid so far this year..//
like the one about the Yankees trailing the Red Sox by 5 games by the end of July?

Kasey you couldn't be more right about the Red Sox getting to play the Royals everytime they're struggling. It's Theo calls up the schedule makers and they add in extra games against the Royals.

i haven't done the math on the royals, but i know boston gets seattle nine times this season, while the yankees get six games. i wouldn't be surprised if boston saw more of the royals, as well. i guess that's why it's called an "unbalanced" schedule.

levelboss,
i think kevin was being sarcastic. my predictions have been way off. i haven't made any bones about that.

well, i predicted yankees go 9-6 (2-1 chicago, 2-2 anaheim 3-0 baltimore 2-3 redsox)
for the redsox I will go with 3-0 royals (if they don't with their three best they are pathetic) 2-1 baltimore (prob a walkoff in this series), 1-2 detroit, 3-2 yankees. 9-5, yankees lead by 1.5 after the boston series. It occured to me i said at least 2 games on this blog, but i meant to say 1-3 after the boston series.

funny, i agree to the letter with yankeevmm (vince?) re: predictions above. we'll see, i guess. the beauty of predictions is you can quite quickly replace them with another, right kasey??
don't get to see espn in england, apart from the occasional game they show. how biased are they? my brother always complains how inept their football(soccer) coverage is, for an englishman in ny.

hey, wang looks stellar so far, right guys?
he was their best shot at a win this series, the way moose and the big eunuch have been pitching.

there goes the Sox sweep of the royals prediction...thank you, come again..;)

somebody should tell the yankees that winning the "men left on base" contest doesn't mean winning the game.

kasey that was a hard fought 11 inning affair against one of the best come back teams at home, the team that is supposed to dethrone the yankees lost to the royals, give em a break. Yankees have bounced back all year from tough losses but unit needs to give them innings...wang scrapped tonight but he didnt lost the game it was 4-4 when he lost, all solid pitchers are able to have an off day but great ones keep their teams in the game (schilling, mussina). Lester has been awful for 4 starts now, beckett has been blown up for a month, wells is yet to put up a quality start this year and johnson *****. yet u think wang leaving in a tie game is trouble.
yeah, not scoring a couple scorable runs late in that game hurt, but shh don't tell anyone a rod did everythign he could tonight (great defense, go ahead homerun, big base hit to load em, drew a walk, stole a base.

Kasey I hope you are right, but i doubt it since the sox can't beat anyone right now...mark it down they will be four games of the yanks before the five gmae series, and six or seven back after

I don't know about you Kasey, but those Red Sox sure impressed me last night. They played much better than the Yankees did, wouldn't you say?

I just learned that the Red Sox have tied or dropped all of their series since the All-Star break. But clearly they're playing more like an October team than the Yankees are.

yeah, boston's struggling right now. and the yanks have a ******** two game lead. the yankees will be kicking themselves for not being able to close the door.
